The Gujarat government has recently enacted a significant administrative shuffle, impacting the roles and responsibilities of several senior IAS officers. In a notable move, senior IAS officer Manish Bhardwaj, a 1997 Gujarat cadre pffocer, has been relieved of his state duties. Mr. Bhardwaj, who previously held the esteemed position of Principal Secretary in the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply, and Kalpsar Department at Sachivalaya in Gandhinagar, is now set to embark on a central deputation.

Under this central deputation, Manish Bhardwaj's services have been entrusted to the Government of India for a crucial appointment as Deputy Director General (DDG) within the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This agency operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and plays a pivotal role in the management of Aadhaar, India's ambitious biometric identification program.

To further streamline the administrative landscape, IAS CV Som, a seasoned bureaucrat from the 1990 batch of the Gujarat cadre, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. In his current capacity as Additional Chief Secretary of the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpsar Department at Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, CV Som will now assume the pivotal role of Principal Secretary within the same department.

Additionally, the state government has issued transfer orders affecting two other IAS officers, marking a comprehensive reconfiguration of top-level administrative roles within Gujarat's bureaucracy.
