In a a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle at the Centre, the Modi government has moved as many as 15 IAS officers from one ministry to another.
1991 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, Sudhansh Pant has been appointed as the new Health Secretary. He is currently Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
Presently, he has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty, Department of Health and Family Welfare. Mr Pant will take over as Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, upon the retirement of Rajesh Bhushan on July 31, 2023, an order issued by the Personnel ministry said.
1991 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, TK Ramachandran will be new Secretary of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. He was chairman of V O Chidambaranar Port Trust, Tuticorin and will replace Mr Pant.
1992 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, Chanchal Kumar has been named as the new Civil Aviation Secretary. He was Managing Director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.
“The officer will join as officer on special duty, ministry of civil aviation in the rank and pay of secretary to the government of India on 01.08.2023 and take over as secretary, ministry of civil aviation vice Rajiv Bansal, lAS (NL:88) upon his superannuation on 31 .08.2023,” the order said.
