The Maharashtra state government has reshuffled close to a dozen IAS officers, just days after Manoj Saunik took over as the new chief secretary. Dr Nitin Kareer, an IAS officer of the 1988 batch, has been appointed as the new additional chief secretary (finance), replacing Saunik. Milind Mhaiskar (IAS batch of 1992) has been posted as ACS in the public health department, after serving as ACS of civil aviation and state excise.

Another significant transfer is Dr Sanjeev Kumar (IAS 2003), who has been posted as CMD of the Mahatransco, after serving as an additional municipal commissioner in the BMC. Shravan Hardikar (IAS 2005) has replaced Kumar as the additional municipal commissioner in the BMC, while D T Waghmare (IAS 1994) who was CMD of Mahatransco has been posted as principal secretary (appeals and security) in the home department.

Radhika Rastogi (IAS 1995) has been posted as principal secretary in the minority development department, while Tukaram Mundhe (IAS 2005) has been posted as secretary in the animal and dairy development department. P Siva Sankar (IAS 2011) who was director in the textiles department in Nagpur has been posted as CEO of Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust in Shirdi.

According to a senior bureaucrat, several bureaucrats, including Cidco managing director Sanjay Mukherjee, BMC commissioner I S Chahal, MMRDA commissioner S V Srinivas and SRA chief executive officer Satish Lokhande, have completed their tenure but have not been shifted as both Shinde and his deputy Devendra Fadnavis are not keen on disturbing them. However, new assignments are likely to be given to ACS (expenditure) O P Gupta and ACS (protocol) Manisha Mhaiskar-Patankar following their promotion as ACS in March.
