IPS officer Gaurav Singh, hailing from the 2012 batch of the Maharashtra cadre, has assumed the role of Superintendent of Police within the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). His appointment to this prestigious federal agency has been confirmed for a duration of five years, as detailed in an official directive from the Personnel Ministry.

In a parallel development, the deputation period of Manoj Verma has been extended by one year within the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Manoj Verma, who holds the position of second-in-command in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), currently serves as an SP in the CBI. This extension stretches his tenure from August 28, 2023, to August 27, 2024, as outlined in the official order.

Furthermore, the Central Government has granted its approval for the "extension/regularization" of the deputation status of two Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) - Keshav Ram Chaurasia and Prem Kumar Gautam. These DIGs have been actively engaged in the inquiry and investigation of cases related to the allocation of coal blocks.
