Ministries of Finance, Railways, Defence & Home among top litigants

According to Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, the Union ministries of finance, railways, defence, labour and employment, and home are the top five litigants among the government. In an effort to reduce litigation, ministries and departments that are frequently involved in legal battles, such as the Department of Revenue and the railways, have been implementing measures to reduce the number of court cases. The Legal Information Management and Briefing System (LIMBS) portal shows that the finance ministry has 1.73 lakh cases pending, including 9,062 in the Supreme Court.
